Fathimath Nashfa is an accomplished professional with vast experience in library automation and digital library development. In 2011, she provided technical assistance to the Maldives Library Association to automate their libraries. Under her leadership, the project successfully automated 10 libraries in its initial phase, and by 2012, the total number of automated libraries increased to 20. The project is detailed on infomalias.org. In 2018, Ms. Nashfa led the team that created the first local digital library in the Maldives, housed in the Maldives National University Library. The digital library, called Saruna, is designed to provide a centralized platform where locally written materials can be accessed for free. Today, the Saruna digital library boasts over 13,500 materials and has become a crucial resource for students and the general public. Visit saruna.mnu.edu.mv to access the library.
