Ms. Udhuma Abdul Latheef is a highly experienced professional in the field of education, specifically in the realm of computer science and technology. She has served as the Head of School at the School of Computer Science in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Villa College for over nine years. Additionally, for the past two years, she has acted as the dean, overseeing the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Her academic background includes an MSc in Information Technology Management from Staffordshire University in the UK, which has solidified her expertise in the field. With her extensive experience and educational qualifications, Ms. Udhuma possesses a comprehensive understanding of information technology and its applications. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD in the field of Technology, with a focus on researching how technology can assist special needs students in the Maldives in the field of education. Aside from her administrative responsibilities as the Head of School, Ms. Udhuma has a diverse range of interests and expertise. She is a strong advocate for Women in Technology, recognizing the importance of gender diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. She actively participates in various initiatives and programs aimed at promoting women's participation and empowerment in technology fields. Another area of Ms. Udhuma's expertise lies in Special Education and IT. She understands the transformative potential of technology in enhancing educational opportunities for individuals with special needs. Leveraging her knowledge in educational technology and human-computer interaction, she strives to develop innovative solutions and methodologies that cater to the unique requirements of special education. Currently, Ms. Udhuma is deeply engaged in a research project titled "A Multi-Modal Approach to Teacher Professional Development to Address Evolving Educational Changes in Low Resource Settings." Collaborating with esteemed colleagues at Villa College, her objective is to explore new approaches to teacher training and development specifically tailored for low-resource settings. This research project showcases her dedication to addressing educational challenges and driving positive change in the field. In her role as the Head of School, Ms. Udhuma oversees various programs within the School of Computer Science, including the prestigious BSc in Computer Science and MSc in Information Technology from the University of the West of England. Additionally, she takes charge of the Bachelor of Interior Architecture and Design program, demonstrating her ability to navigate diverse academic domains. Furthermore, she provides valuable guidance and direction to the entire Faculty of Engineering and Technology, ensuring its smooth functioning. Ms. Udhuma's expertise extends beyond her primary responsibilities, as she has made significant contributions to the development of IT-related modules in programs such as Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics, Mechatronics, and Mechanical Engineering.
