Zulaikha Ibrahim is the Deputy Director General of the Communications Authority of Maldives (CAM), the national telecom regulator, and currently heads its Regulatory Services Division. With over two decades of experience in the ICT industry, Zulaikha has played a crucial role in the development and regulation of the industry in the Maldives. Having started her career at CAM as a Programmer (trainee), Zulaikha has worked through different levels of responsibilities, designing information systems, compiling national telecom and ICT indicators, and working on regulatory and developmental activities. She has been involved in the formulation and implementation of new policy initiatives and has been extensively working on initiatives to improve the quality and pricing of broadband services in the country. Zulaikha is also one of the first computer training instructors in the Maldives, teaching the basics of computers to a handful of keen learners. She holds a BSc in Computation from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), UK.
